Walls just aren’t painted anymore these days

Do guests leave with a WOW impression?  Are you the talk of their next meetings?   Here’s a great new way to make a big impression.

Walls just aren’t painted anymore these days.  Below are a few pictures of decorative metal wall covering that our carpenters installed on a project.  The material comes in rolls that you cut to install.  This panel design replicates a hand-hammered metal style and is perfect for ceiling borders or your entire project. The Galvanized Steel finish provides the cool-toned beauty of classic gray with a flecked, industrial character. It is suited to an array of design settings.

Who else is listening?

I was at the doctor’s office the other day.  While I was sitting in my exam room, I could hear the conversation in the hall and the rooms next to mine.  This is a prime example where insulation is needed.  Insulation is not only for insulating for climate control, but it is also used for noise control.  If your walls are already built, there is a product that can be sprayed in from above the ceiling into the walls.

This can be an important issue for many reasons.  Not only could you be exposing private conversations  but could you possibly be creating a liability by having these conversations heard by 3rd parties?  Call SCS Construction for a consultation if you are experiencing issues like this in your office.

Can you see me now?

Cincinnati Commercial Windows

By now everyone has seen the cell phone tv commercials that made famous “Can You Hear Me Now”.   Well this is about windows, not cell phones.  Is there condensation in your windows?  Or are your windows fogged up where it is hard to see out of them?  If so, your insulated window is bad and needs replaced.

There are many reasons issues like this should be addressed, security and professional appearance are a few.  Many companies don’t think about the small items like this that may be costing your sales.  Consumers are hard enough to attract to a business, you don’t want little issues like this to make them think that you’re not paying attention to every detail in your business.

Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Commercial Windows

The most commonly used item in your building…YOUR FRONT DOOR!

Does your glass door rub or stick?  If your door doesn’t open or close with minimal force then something needs adjusted or replaced.  Take a look at the frame or threshold to see if there is something that is rubbing or scraping.  If the door is rubbing on the threshold then the first thought is that your pivot needs replaced.  If the door is rubbing on the frame then it may just need adjustment.

If you are having an issue like one of the above, give us a call.  We give free estimates to the proper solution for all your door needs.  SCS Construction Services can help you with this issue.  We service the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region.

Salting In The Winter

It’s coming, THE COLD WEATHER!  With cold weather comes ice and snow.  Before you get the salt out and start throwing it everywhere, take some time to assess the issues you may have long term.

Did you know that salt will eat away your aluminum on your aluminum storefront entrance?  Walk around your favorite shopping center new or old and take a look at the entrances close to where the aluminum meets the concrete.  The damage you see is from salt.  There are products that will not damage your finish  as bad as salt, but they are typically more expensive.

ADA Restrooms

How many times do you go to a restroom where it does not meet ADA requirements?  Here are a few ways to tell:

  1. The entrance door is less than 36” wide.
  2. No grab bars in stalls
  3. No ADA stall to fit a wheelchair
  4. The sink is too high or the vanity will not allow a wheelchair to fit under it so you are able to wash your hands.
